Our Cats

Cat Enclosure

The outdoor play area

We have 9 cats and 1 dog. They all live indoors with us and the cats have access to a fully enclosed area in our back garden where they can play in the grass, chase bugs and climb stuff without the worry of them running into the busy road outside our house, or of bothering neighbours.

We have 4 non-pedigree cats and 5 pedigree cats. All but two (Xena and Snowball) are neutered.

First, we got Marge and her two kittens, Bart and Lisa from Drogheda Animal Rescue. Shortly afterwards, we adopted our dog, Jessie, from Wexford Pet Helpers.

Fred, our Maine Coon neuter came next, followed quickly by his very best friend in the world, Homer, our silver tabby British Shorthair neuter.

Later, we were transporting some supplies from Dublin to a rural rescue when we encountered Smithers. Badly injured, he was getting as much help as the badly over stretched rescue could manage. We decided then and there we’d take him and help him recover. If he fit into our home, we’d keep him. Otherwise, we’d help him find a home. When we got our Snowshoe kitten, Mo, Smithers took him under his wing. We never even considered finding Smithers another home. Those two are like peas in a pod.

After Mo, we had the opportunity to bring Snowball into our home as our foundation queen. Our Xena is from the very first litter of Labrys kittens.
