About Us
We’re hobby breeders of British Shorthair cats and we’re located in the Irish midlands.
I fell in love with British Shorthairs about 15 years ago when I adopted one from a rescue and brought him to live with me in my very first apartment. Noah was the best friend a girl could have. When he passed away, I decided I’d find a cat who reminded me of Noah.
We searched high and low and finally found our Homer (Graygees Mr Simpson). We got him from a breeder in Kent, UK. Around the same time, we got a Maine Coon, since Em had become enamoured with them after seeing one at a cat show. Homer and Fred (our Maine Coon) are the best of friends. To this day we heartily recommend the two breeds as companions. In fact, one of our first litter went to a home with a Maine Coon.
And yes, we’re crazy cat ladies. We had three moggies (non-pedigree cats) before we got Homer, and we’ve since acquired another non-pedigree from a rescue (I’ll post Smithers’ story soon). We’ve also acquired Mo, a rare preferred pattern Snowshoe and the very first to be an international quad merit winner as he won his four merits in both the UK and in Ireland.
As well, our first breeding queen, Snowball, joined the family almost two years ago. Since then she’s had one litter and we kept Xena from it, so she will be our second breeding queen. We do our best to minimise the impact of breeding them, and largely their lives are spent as spoiled lap cats.
If you’re keeping track, that’s 9 cats. All delightfully spoiled and cared for to the highest standard. If you are interested in getting a kitten from us, you’ll have the opportunity to visit our home, meet our cats (and dog) and see how they live indoors and in the enclosed outdoor play area we had built for them (and us too).
